Literacy Campaign

The Saksharatha programme of the Government was well received and
due to the zealous campaign conducted by the Government as well
as voluntary organisations, the level of literacy has a marked improvement.
As per available statistics, the district has 896367 literates,
of which the number of males is 464844 and females 431523.
